I never had money, and I was very happy without it. When I die, my money’s not gonna come with me. My movies will live on - for people to judge what I was as a person.

“Matilda is adorable, and beautifully observant and wise. Michelle and I love her so much. Becoming a father exceeds all my expectations. It’s the most remarkable experience I’ve ever had — it’s marvelous.”
“Matilda was two when Ledger died, and has only the sketchiest memory of the father who used to lavish her with lifesize toy animals and ice cream. Now five, she often asks Williams questions about him: what he was like, what happened to him, where he went. She once asked her mother whether he died because his batteries ran out; another time, Williams found herself explaining the paparazzi, telling Matilda, ‘It’s because people really loved your daddy that they want to take your picture, to know that you’re all right.’

“When I die, my movies will live on,”

Eugh, it still astounds me that one person could have played a multitude of different characters and personalities in such a short time. The fact that one person could pull off playing both Casanova and the Joker, and put in an effortless performance as each, astounds me too. He was so talented, and all of his work was so powerful. This was what he lived to do.
